As an Armed Security Officer in a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. This is an armed and driving post where your professionalism supports daily operations. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all persons at the location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities for a utilities environment.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including buildings, parking areas, gates, and perimeter points, helping to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials, vehicles, and deliveries in accordance with site protocols, helping to control entry to restricted utility operations and infrastructure areas.
  • Support Allied Universal and site leadership by preparing reports, maintaining assigned equipment, and following post orders related to armed patrol duties and/or security-related response activities.
