As a Security Officer Armed - College Access in North Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Security Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Possess a DD214 with an Honorable Discharge, an Associate Degree or 60 College Credits, a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report unusual conditions, and maintain clear, accurate documentation of incidents and patrol activities.
• Maintain a professional armed presence while complying with applicable laws, licensing requirements, company policies, and site-specific procedures.
