Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess 1 or more years of law enforcement experience, 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 3 or more years of security experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or other authorized individuals by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate within a government correctional environment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access to designated areas, verify authorization as required, and report unusual activity, prohibited items, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain required logs, and communicate observations and incidents to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
