As a Corrections Facility Security Officer - Armed in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will support a government location by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and responding to concerns with professionalism. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel at a government corrections location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and other designated locations to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Observe and report policy violations, maintenance concerns, and potentially hazardous conditions to the appropriate personnel, and complete required activity reports.
