As a Security Officer Armed - Access Entrance in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This driving post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license. Bring strong communication and customer service skills while representing Allied Universal’s caring, reliable, and integrity-driven culture.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds, preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while coordinating with appropriate hospital personnel and public responders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, with working environments and conditions varying throughout the location.
  • Monitor access points and screen or direct visitors in accordance with site-specific procedures, helping to maintain an orderly healthcare environment.
  • Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
