About The Position

As a Security Officer Alarm Event Dispatcher in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Security Professional supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor alarm panels and communications systems, coordinate responses to security-related incidents, and maintain clear, timely documentation. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for personnel and visitors while helping to deter incidents through attentive monitoring and communication. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Possess a Guard Card or license, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Have alarm panel experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate within a technology and data center environment.
  • Monitor communications systems, cameras, alarms, and access-control activity; receive calls and dispatch personnel or resources in accordance with site procedures.
  • Document incidents, service requests, visitor activity, and other security-related events accurately and promptly in required logs and reporting systems.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and communications with appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned, reporting unusual conditions, access concerns, and maintenance-related issues.
