As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Requirements

• 20+ Years of Age
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter, with attention to unusual activity and/or unauthorized access.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help support authorized access, assist with directional questions, and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or policy violations.
• Support daily operations by communicating with site contacts, following post orders, and completing assigned reports related to incidents, patrol activity, and/or customer service interactions.
