About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Operations in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. The position provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The role requires a six-month commitment to a designated site and weekly anchor shift. Additional shifts can provide opportunities to work varying part-time hours or build toward a schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

The scheduled shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM. The pay rate is $17.01 per hour. The role involves providing customer service and carrying out security procedures at healthcare facilities, including controlling access, checking credentials, maintaining logs, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation, subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations.
• Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to healthcare facilities, restricted areas, and employee entrances in accordance with established site procedures.
• Verify credentials, issue visitor badges or access credentials, maintain access-related logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, surrounding areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
