About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control in Cape Canaveral, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic retail and mall location, you will help maintain a welcoming environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and responding to security-related concerns. Requirements

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, tenants, and retail personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access points for employees, vendors, delivery personnel, and visitors; verify credentials and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain professional communication with site personnel, tenants, and the public while supporting a welcoming environment and following Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
