About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Console in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. In this role, you will help manage access control, monitor entry activity, conduct routine patrols, and support security-related operations with professionalism and strong communication. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all persons at the location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying credentials, processing visitors, contractors, and/or drivers, and documenting arrivals and departures according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Monitor gates, docks, yards, and other assigned areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and support the orderly movement of people, vehicles, and deliveries throughout the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including warehouse, distribution, and exterior areas, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
