About The Position
The Security Officer 1 position at Warren State Hospital offers you the chance to help maintain a safe and orderly environment. This role gives you an important part in protecting individuals while supporting the hospital mission. You will utilize your awareness and judgment to respond to situations with confidence and care. The Security Officer 1 helps protect Warren State Hospital by enforcing safety policies, monitoring activity, and responding to routine and emergency situations. This role supports a secure hospital environment for patients, employees, and visitors.
Requirements
- Must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in fire alarms, escort emergency personnel, and complete bomb threat procedures
- Follow operating instructions, policies and procedures, and emergency plans
- Direct and manage parking and vehicle movement on campus
- Perform desk work, monitor visitors, answer calls, and patrol interior and exterior areas
- Document activities, complete reports, and conduct investigations when required
- Conduct searches of individuals and property as needed
