Requirements
- Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities
- A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Be able to perform essential job functions
- Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance (post-conditional offer)
Responsibilities
- Create and conduct activity sessions across living units, recovery programs, and designated hospital areas
- Complete admission assessments, reassessments, and progress documentation for all assigned individuals
- Match consumers with suitable recreation activities based on interviews, assessments, and treatment team input
- Attend treatment team meetings, provide input on individualized goals, and support methodologies for consumer progress
- Maintain supplies, repair items, and ensure safe and ready materials for therapeutic activity areas
