About The Position

The Security Guard provides accurate monitoring and reporting of incoming and outgoing shipments and vehicles while conducting business courteously and professionally. The role surveys facility grounds for suspicious activity and ensures facility doors are secured. The position is designated for team members currently working at this facility or complex. Internal applicants must have completed 90 days in their current position to be considered. The successful candidate must be able to perform the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation. The listed pay is $18.10 per hour, plus a $1.50 attendance bonus. B Shift receives a $3 shift differential. The job details describe rotating 12-hour schedules (3-2-3), with 1st Shift hours of 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or until assigned work is complete, and B Shift hours of 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. or until assigned work is complete. The advertised work shift is 1st Shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to carry out essential duties and responsibilities within safety guidelines.
Excellent attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills.
Knowledge sufficient to recognize potential safety hazards.
Dependable, able to work independently, and able to make effective decisions within policy and procedures in crisis and routine situations.
Ability to perform duties professionally and exemplify a respectful attitude.

Ability to remain on one's feet throughout the shift, standing or walking for long periods.

Ability to efficiently operate a computer and basic email programs.
Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

Provide a visual security presence.
Control outside access to Receiving and Distribution Areas.
Confirm that vehicles requesting entrance have proper prior authorization before allowing entry.
Visually inspect trucks and trailers for suspicious circumstances.
Verify that visitors and off-shift employees are authorized to be on the premises, including access to the back lot.
Report suspicious activity to the Safety Manager and promptly report suspicious activities to the Risk Manager.
Monitor storage trailers for proper temperature and security seals when loaded.
Monitor inside and outside facility video feeds for suspicious activity.
Verify seal numbers, trailer number, destination, and driver information against the manifest and log.
Conduct foot patrols of facility grounds and verify door security.
Monitor grounds for proper vehicle parking and perform basic security inspections of the grounds.
Maintain a shift log.
Perform scale house duties on 3rd shift as required when the attendant is absent.
Undertake other duties as required by the company.
