About The Position

The Security Guard provides accurate monitoring and reporting of incoming and outgoing shipments and vehicles in a courteous and professional manner. The role surveys facility grounds for suspicious activity and ensures facility doors are properly secured. The position is for current team members working at this facility or complex only; internal applicants must have completed 90 days in their current position to be considered. The role is based at the Waverly, Nebraska facility and works 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Pay is $18.10 per hour, with a $1.50 attendance bonus. The posting also lists a $3 shift differential for B Shift. The successful candidate must be able to perform the position’s physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role involves indoor and outdoor work, including exposure at times to live and processed chicken odor. Employees may need to work overtime as required. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Able to carry out essential duties and responsibilities within safety guidelines.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of how to recognize potential safety hazards.
Dependable and capable of working independently and making effective decisions within policy and procedures in both crisis and routine situations.
Able to perform duties professionally and with a respectful attitude.

Able to remain on feet throughout the shift, standing or walking for long periods.
Able to follow detailed procedures.
Able to efficiently operate a computer and basic email programs.
Must be able to obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

Provide a visual security presence.
Control outside access to Receiving and Distribution Areas.
Confirm that vehicles requesting entrance have prior authorization before permitting entry.
Visually inspect trucks and trailers for suspicious circumstances.
Verify that visitors and off-shift employees are authorized to be on the premises, including access to the back lot.
Report suspicious activity to the Safety Manager and promptly report suspicious activity to the Risk Manager.
Monitor storage trailers for proper temperature and security seals when loaded.
Monitor indoor and outdoor facility video feeds for suspicious activity.
Verify manifest and log details, including seal numbers, trailer number, destination, and driver information.
Conduct foot patrols of facility grounds and verify door security.
Monitor grounds for proper vehicle parking and perform basic security inspections of the grounds.
Maintain a shift log.
Perform scale house duties on 3rd shift as required when the attendant is absent.
Undertake other duties as required by the company.
