About The Position

The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the facility and surrounding areas to ensure safety and security. This role involves patrolling the premises, fulfilling front desk duties during off-hours, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a secure environment for employees, visitors, and vendors. The guard will also be responsible for inspecting security systems, completing incident reports, and escalating issues as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of working experience required.
  • Current Security Guard License, required.
  • Valid CA driver’s license.
  • Ability to comply with DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements.
  • Must be able to pass company driving background qualifications to operate company-assigned vehicles.

  • Previous experience as a Security Guard, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor facility and surrounding areas to guard against suspicious activities.
  • Patrol building and grounds by foot and vehicle to protect establishment against potential threats.
  • Fulfill front desk duties during off-hours such as responding to phone calls, assisting customers, responding to incoming inquiries, contacting employees and managers, vendor assistance, relaying information to appropriate parties.
  • Contact authorities (e.g., police, fire departments, etc.) in cases of emergency or threats such as fire, medical emergency, unwelcomed violators, suspicious activities, etc.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, vendors, and others to maintain security of premises.
  • Reject, apprehend or evict violators from premises if deemed necessary.
  • Escort personnel to their car and/or department as requested by management and or Human Resources.
  • Examine all entry points such doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
  • Address violations, infractions, property damage, suspicious activity, threats, potential hazards, disturbances, and any other irregular activity.
  • Respond to and investigate alarms and disturbances, addressing or escalating accordingly.
  • Complete incident reports for irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Relay escalated incidents to appropriate department to end handle such as Management, Facilities, Operations, or Human Resources.
  • Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
