About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Guard to support a government location in Delray Beach, Florida. The role involves monitoring access points, verifying credentials, controlling entry, maintaining a visible presence, communicating professionally with employees and visitors, responding to security concerns, and conducting routine patrols. The position is a driving post and requires an armed guard card or license and a valid driver's license. The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The pay rate is $21.85 per hour.

Requirements

At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
Armed guard card or license.
Valid driver's license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency-response activities.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor records, and direct individuals to appropriate areas.
Control the entry and exit of personnel, visitors, contractors, and deliveries; report access concerns or unauthorized entry attempts.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, follow site-specific protocols, and contact emergency services or supervisory personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, public areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
