About The Position

The Armed Security Guard protects company property, employees, and assets by patrolling buildings and grounds. The guard provides protective escorts when needed or requested and performs traffic control and parking enforcement as necessary. The position monitors security cameras, access control, and related alarm and fire safety equipment; responds to safety and security calls; and monitors compliance with safety and security regulations under OSHA and state and federal guidelines. Other duties may be assigned.

The schedule alternates between Wednesday–Saturday, 6 a.m.–6 p.m. in Week 1 (36 hours) and Thursday–Saturday, 6 a.m.–6 p.m. in Week 2 (48 hours). The role is full-time and requires availability to work nights and weekends, varied shifts, and overtime as required.

Requirements

• At least one year of security or equivalent experience, including six months as an armed officer.
• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to react calmly and professionally to emergency situations.
• Ability to use safety and security electronic equipment and computer software.
• Ability to read a computer screen and operate a computer terminal, electronic security equipment, a two-way radio, and a telephone.
• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to patrol buildings, garages, and surface areas, and restrain or chase subjects if necessary.
• Ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
• Ability to work varied shifts and overtime as required, and to adapt to a continuously changing environment.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, or reach for 12 hours.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to adhere to stringent safety rules.
• Basic understanding of access control, CCTV, firefighting equipment, and first aid equipment.
• United States work authorization.
• Availability to work nights and weekends.
• One year of military experience is listed as required in the Experience section.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Two years of college.
• Military or law enforcement experience.
