About The Position

As a part-time Security Guard in Chicago, Illinois, you will serve and safeguard clients at a retail location. In the front desk role, you will create a welcoming, professional first impression while monitoring access, assisting visitors, and responding to security-related concerns. You will use communication and customer service skills to help deter incidents, maintain accurate records, and support a positive environment. The role is scheduled Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The pay rate is $24.25 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, shoppers, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Staff the front desk or lobby, greet and direct visitors, verify access authorization, and maintain visitor logs or issue visitor credentials according to site procedures.
Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and other security systems from a stationary post; report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, assistance requests, and critical situations, following established escalation procedures.
Deter unauthorized access and disruptive behavior through a visible, customer-focused presence while supporting a welcoming retail and mall environment.
