About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Driver Inspections in Columbia, South Carolina. The role serves and safeguards clients at a government correctional location by conducting unarmed vehicle and foot patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and supporting a secure environment for staff and visitors. The position requires a valid driver’s license in the job state and professional customer-service and communication skills. The schedule includes Wednesday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Thursday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and Friday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located; a valid license is required for driving positions.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by following site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including perimeters, entry points, parking areas, and common areas.
Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals, vehicles, and deliveries according to post orders and facility procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken.
Prepare clear, accurate reports on patrols, incidents, access-control activity, and observed conditions.
Communicate professionally with facility staff and visitors.
