About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Patrol Access Support for an assigned shelter site in Jamaica, New York. The role provides reliable hours on a designated weekly shift, with a six-month commitment to the assigned site and shift. In addition to the fixed shift, employees may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. The position is part-time, with the possibility of working up to 40 hours per week and scaling back when needed. The pay rate is $18.87 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday, 3:30 PM–11:30 PM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver's license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers at a shelter while following site-specific security procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, and identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site procedures, documenting entries, incidents, and observations as required.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations, following emergency response protocols when appropriate.
• Communicate with site personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership about incidents, policy concerns, and security-related observations.
