About The Position

Geisinger Behavioral Health Danville is seeking a dedicated Security Guard to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Security Guard is a visible first point of contact for people entering the facility and supports emergency response, facility safety monitoring, and the care team. The role also includes performing other functions and tasks as assigned. Management may add or remove duties as circumstances require.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of experience in security, corrections, or military service.
• Valid state driver's license.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.

Nice To Haves

• First aid may be required depending on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist, direct, and monitor people entering and leaving facility property.
• Maintain accurate log books as required.
• Direct emergency personnel arriving on facility property and maintain traffic flow during emergencies, such as fire drills.
• Communicate incoming admissions, visits, and deliveries to appropriate staff.
• Monitor the parking area for loitering or misconduct, monitor the lobby, and conduct frequent sweeps of the entire facility.
• Interact professionally with staff and patients at all times.
• Report suspicious behavior to the CEO, supervisor, or a member of leadership.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
