About The Position

The Security Guard performs duties related to the security of the clinic building and grounds to help prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry, and to support the personal safety of employees, patients, and visitors. The role includes conducting security inspections, responding to unauthorized persons and incidents, assisting clinical staff with assaultive behavior, and monitoring site conditions and access.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active California Guard Card.
• One year of security guard experience.
• Knowledge of Management of Assaultive Behavior techniques.
• Ability to work around patients seeking psychiatric or behavioral health treatment.
• Ability to speak and understand English.

Nice To Haves

• Security guard experience in a hospital, clinic, or similar environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Periodically tour the building and grounds to conduct security inspections.
• Question unauthorized persons and route or detain them when appropriate.
• Contact local law enforcement when necessary.
• Assist clinical staff in managing assaultive behavior related to agitated or aggressive patients.
• Report unusual conditions or malfunctioning equipment.
• Check automobiles for proper parking authorization.
• Check exterior lighting and access routes to the emergency entrance.
• Maintain written reports of incidents.
