About The Position

Guardian Security Services is seeking professional Security Officers to support a commercial property in Queens, New York. This client-facing role involves helping maintain building safety and security while providing a professional, courteous presence for guests, vendors, tenants, and visitors. Officers contribute to a safe, well-managed property through attentive service, sound judgment, and clear communication. The position is offered full-time and part-time, with an overnight schedule available seven days per week, at $18.00 per hour. Guardian Service Industries was established in 1918 and is a fourth-generation family-owned company providing security, janitorial, engineering, pest control, and facility support services. The company supports more than 1,000 properties across the East Coast, New England, and Florida, including commercial buildings, residential communities, transportation hubs, schools, and government facilities. The company participates in E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of new hires.

Requirements

Valid New York State Security Guard License.
8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Certificate.
16-Hour On-the-Job Training Certificate.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods as required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in residential security, corporate security, concierge security, or customer-facing security roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional and welcoming presence for residents, guests, and vendors.
Monitor building access points and remain aware of building activity.
Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior building areas.
Monitor surveillance cameras and building security systems.
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies and security concerns.
Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports.
Assist with package handling and vendor deliveries when required.
Maintain control and documentation of building and concierge keys.
Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.
Coordinate with building management and property staff to support daily operations.
Enforce building policies while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
Communicate clearly during shift transitions to support operational continuity.
