About The Position

Guardian Security Services is seeking professional Security Officers to support a commercial property in Queens, New York. This client-facing role helps maintain building safety and security while providing a professional presence for guests, vendors, tenants, and visitors. Officers are expected to demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a polished, professional demeanor appropriate for a commercial environment. The schedule is overnight, seven days per week, with full-time and part-time opportunities. The stated pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Guardian Service Industries, established in 1918, is a fourth-generation family-owned company providing security, janitorial, engineering, pest control, and facility support services. The company supports more than 1,000 properties across the East Coast, New England, and Florida, including commercial buildings, residential communities, transportation hubs, schools, and government facilities.

Requirements

Valid New York State Security Guard License.
8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Certificate.
16-Hour On-the-Job Training Certificate.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods as required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in residential security, corporate security, concierge security, or customer-facing security roles.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional and welcoming presence for residents, guests, and vendors.
Monitor building access points and remain aware of building activity.
Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior building areas.
Monitor surveillance cameras and building security systems.
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies and security concerns.
Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports.
Assist with package handling and vendor deliveries when required.
Maintain control and documentation of building and concierge keys.
Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.
Coordinate with building management and property staff to support daily operations.
Enforce building policies while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
Maintain clear communication during shift transitions to ensure operational continuity.
