About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard for an assigned manufacturing and industrial site in Waterloo, Iowa. The role has a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. In addition to that fixed shift, the employee may claim extra shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust hours as needed. The stated schedule is Monday, 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. The pay rate is $19.25 per hour.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; a license is required for driving positions only.
• Applicants for unarmed roles must be at least 19 years old; applicants for armed roles must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter.
• Monitor access control points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report unauthorized activity or unusual conditions.
• Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications according to company and site-specific procedures.
