About The Position

Planned Companies’ Planned Security Services division is hiring a friendly and professional Private Security Guard to provide security services at residential and commercial properties in Washington, D.C. Duties include routine patrols and safety checks, access control, surveillance monitoring, responding to alarms and other notifications, assisting residents and visitors, and reporting incidents. A valid D.C. security guard license is required.

This is a part-time overnight position scheduled Friday and Saturday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, for 16 hours per week. The listed pay rate is 22.

Requirements

• Valid D.C. security guard license.
• New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) license and a clean/valid driver’s license.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Security Officer or Guard.
• Knowledge of local, regional, and state legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
• Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
• Experience with closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance systems.
• Training in First Aid, Basic Life Saving (BLS), and self-defense.
• Strong report-writing and clear verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine security and safety patrols of property and structures to maintain order and establish a security presence.
• Verify and track access credentials for residents, guests, vendors, and deliveries.
• Ensure exits, doors, and windows are secure and functioning.
• Monitor and track CCTV surveillance cameras to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
• Respond to, investigate, and assess notifications, communications, and alarms.
• Provide security-related assistance and support to residents, guests, and vendors.
• Report uninvited guests, suspicious possessions, and unlawful acts to the proper authorities.
• Create and submit daily surveillance and incident reports to Planned Security Services management.
