About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is hiring a Security Guard (Concierge) to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional, welcoming environment in a high-end office building. The role combines concierge-style visitor service with security responsibilities, including greeting guests, managing access, monitoring entrances and exits, and supporting daily building operations while maintaining a visible security presence. The guard monitors the facility for suspicious or unsafe activity, learns the regular building traffic and its tenants and visitors, enforces facility policies within the limits of the position, and performs designated patrols on foot or in a vehicle. The role also involves following emergency procedures, monitoring alarms and systems, and preparing reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activity. Duties may vary by assigned customer location. Requirements

Hold any security officer license mandated by the state or municipality.
Have at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Have reliable means of communication and transportation.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Be able to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in contract security, law enforcement, the military, or customer service.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and recognize customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Know and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to help protect against theft of company property and ensure property removal is authorized and meets customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
