About The Position

Security Guards perform security-related duties at NATO Joint Force Command Norfolk (JFCNF) facilities and must be familiar with applicable Federal and State laws, facility policies, practices, and Standard Operating Procedures. Duties include controlling entry and exit, conducting patrols, managing keys and access badges, monitoring alarms and fire systems, enforcing building rules, preventing unauthorized access, and responding to incidents, accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Additional duties may be assigned by supervision or management. Applicants are subject to a background and security investigation and must pass a pre-employment drug screening and remain drug free during employment. Acceptable reference and background check results are also required. The position reports directly to the Site Lead and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Valid DCJS Security License.
Fully adjudicated SECRET security clearance.
Valid state driver’s license.
Eligible to receive a DBIDS pass.
Knowledge of the LENEL access control system.
Familiarity with day-to-day CCTV system operations.
Ability to obtain and maintain a NATO SECRET security clearance.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and remain drug free during employment.
Must have acceptable reference and background check results.

Responsibilities

Work with the LENEL access control system.
Issue and control access badges.
Monitor CCTV and alarms.
Perform entry and exit control.
Conduct vehicle and foot patrols, and respond to emergencies and alarms.
Conduct routine security checks and administrative inspections.
Identify and report security anomalies.
Maintain security logbooks.
Control and store keys, enforce building rules, prevent unauthorized access, and respond to incidents, accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
Perform other duties as required by supervision or management.
