As a Security Guard Part Time Patrol Driver in Redwood City, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Allied Universal officer in an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine driving and foot patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This unarmed role supports students, staff, and visitors through strong communication and customer service, while reflecting our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, a caring culture, teamwork, and integrity every day.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities across an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, while documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus grounds, buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, assist with directional support and visitor interactions, and help to address policy-related issues in a courteous manner consistent with the needs of an academic environment.
