About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Guard Enhanced Armed Patrol Driver for an assigned retail grocery location in Houston, Texas. The role provides a designated weekly anchor shift that requires a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Hours can vary from part-time to as many as 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to scale back. The position pays $22.00 per hour and has a listed Sunday daytime shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The Security Guard provides customer service while performing security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities. The officer conducts armed patrols, monitors the premises, responds to incidents, and documents and communicates relevant observations. Employment is conditional on applicable background and drug screening and participation in industry-specific security training. Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local rules.

Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• Possess a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Texas Level III Armed Certification.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a retail grocery location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the store, parking areas, delivery zones, and perimeter to identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following site procedures and applicable laws.
• Maintain a visible presence while monitoring customer traffic, entrances, exits, and restricted areas for security-related concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
