About The Position

Allied Universal Security Services is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a warehouse in Northborough, Massachusetts. The role offers part-time flex hours, Monday through Friday, including weekends, and uses a shift-pickup platform that allows officers to view and claim open shifts based on their availability. The position may involve irregular shifts with little to no advance notice and may include assignments across different industries and sites. Starting pay is $20.44 per hour, with weekly pay and paid orientation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Be at least 18 years old, or older if required by the state; 21 years old if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, informatively, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in cases of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators about rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removals comply with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
