About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer for an Amazon warehouse. The position offers access to open shifts through a shift-pickup platform, allowing officers to select shifts based on their availability and gain experience across different sites. The role requires open availability, and officers may be called to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. Applicants must have a current California Guard Card with training certificates. Applicants who previously worked at Amazon as an associate or security officer may not qualify.

Requirements

• Must have a current California Guard Card with training certificates.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• A valid driver's license is required if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years if armed.
• Must be reliable and able to adapt to different post assignments.
• Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Must demonstrate the ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills and be able to write clearly, accurately, and informatively.
• Must have active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Must demonstrate teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Must have open availability.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal meets client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
