About The Position

EKG Security, Inc. is hiring a full-time Security Flex Officer in the Opelika, Alabama area. This unarmed officer provides reliable protection and customer service at multiple client sites, with open availability for first, second, and third shifts and the ability to respond throughout the area on short notice. The role requires working any shift, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. The officer performs fixed and roving patrols, monitors for and reports unauthorized or unusual activity, responds to critical situations, prepares accurate incident and daily activity reports, and enforces client procedures and standards. Candidates must complete crisis prevention and site-specific training before serving as a qualified security officer, and pass any state-required licensing training or qualifications. Requirements

Be at least 18 years old or meet the minimum age required by the state.
Have customer service experience.
Hold a valid driver's license.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have at least 2 years of security experience and/or military or law enforcement experience.
Have strong communication and customer service skills.
Know how to operate a radio, telephone, and console monitors.
Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
Have reliable transportation for short-notice response throughout the Opelika area.
Be able to complete crisis prevention training and site-specific training before serving as a qualified security officer.
Be able to pass state-required training or other qualifications for licensing.
Be able to stand for long periods, including 8 or more hours.
Be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
Be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
Be able to reach overhead while handling 10–25-pound loads.
Be able to walk up and down stairs while carrying loads up to 50 pounds.
Be able to walk and stand for extended periods and use ladders.
Be able to work at a desk and use a keyboard.
Be available for any shift, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Undergo a motor vehicle check, drug screen, and criminal background check.
