About The Position

Carvana is hiring a full-time, hourly Security Associate for its Safe & Secure team. This boots-on-the-ground role helps protect associates, customers, vehicles, and site operations. The associate works at entry gates, monitors cameras and alerts, tracks vehicle movement, conducts lot scans and safety audits, and responds to emergencies. The position works closely with Inspection Center and Logistics teams and provides accurate information to Safe & Secure leadership. The schedule is Thursday through Monday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.; open availability is highly preferred. The stated pay is $20 per hour. The role requires working outdoors and maintaining site operations in varying weather, including snow removal and summer heat-safety procedures. It involves extensive walking across the lot, including restricted or hard-to-access areas, as well as frequent driving and computer data entry. The facility operates 24/7, and gates must be manned at all times. This is a safety-sensitive position. Requirements

1–2 years of experience in a customer service environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated sound decision-making in a complex, fast-moving environment.
Ability to build strong working relationships and connect quickly with people.
Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to handle conflict positively and productively.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently and carry up to 60 pounds for up to 20 feet.
Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently stretch, reach, walk, stoop, push, and pull in conditions that may be cold, hot, noisy, or wet and may include vehicle-maintenance fumes or odors.
Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
Ability to use required safety equipment, which may include face shields or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective garments and equipment.
Frequent driving and computer data entry are required.
Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check; the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with CCTV, RFID, card access, or other Safe & Secure technology.
Previous experience supporting an OSHA or safety team program.
Experience with crisis prevention and/or response plans.

Responsibilities

Provide service-first interactions and represent Carvana at the gate to associates, vendors, and visitors.
Communicate clearly and calmly, listen actively, and build positive working relationships.
Use the Unified Security Platform to monitor live cameras, review footage, and investigate intrusion alerts.
Operate the Safe & Secure App and RFID technology while consistently enforcing ingress and egress procedures.
Manage and document vehicle movement through Inspection Center entrance and exit gates.
Respond to emergencies using training in first aid, CPR, AED, and site emergency protocols.
Maintain site operations in varying weather, including snow removal and summer heat-safety procedures.
Identify environmental hazards, conduct safety audits, and reinforce safe practices.
Scan vehicles using mobile rover technology and handheld scanners to support vehicle accountability and operational flow.
Research vehicle locations and provide accurate, detailed reports to leadership.
Support site security and operations through extensive walking, including access to restricted or hard-to-reach lot areas.
