About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity. The Section Leader must be able to anticipate potential problems and apply solutions and preventative measures. Excellent attendance is required. The role involves operating a forklift, being flexible to support extraordinary production requirements, and possessing excellent communication skills to present information to large groups of associates. The Section Leader will communicate and enforce policies and procedures, support and direct daily company production and projects, and understand the roles and responsibilities of each associate, being able to perform any associate’s job if necessary. The role also includes investigating abnormal situations, documenting and sharing findings using Microsoft Office, monitoring the aging trailer report, confirming order and yard maintenance in GCCS/GPCS, ensuring the error management screen is maintained, and reporting any unresolved issues. Additionally, the Section Leader will respond to AAP Requests (Cycle Count/JSP), identify needed repacks and timings, complete all carryover requests from AAP, and provide results of daily activity to the Supervisor. Support for Physical Inventory requirements is also a key responsibility. In terms of Safety/Environment, the Section Leader must follow safety rules and requirements, ensure the work area is clean (5s at end of shift), and support Incident Reports as necessary. For Quality, daily inventory accuracy must be maintained, and any inventory irregularities reported to the Supervisor immediately. For Cost, the correct receipt of all parts in both GCCS and GPCS must be ensured. For Delivery, overtime (scheduled or unscheduled) must be supported, and receiving areas monitored to ensure correct receipt. For Morale, the Section Leader will interact with team members and customers daily in a positive way, treat all associates consistently and respectfully, and raise concerns/issues immediately to management. For Training, associates will train on SOPs as presented by management, and skill advancement courses are available.

Requirements

  • Post-high school education (2 - 4-year degree in Operations Management, Business or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Able to interact professionally within the company with our customer and associates.
  • Able to lead project teams and present information to management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift, hours, holidays, weekends, or overtime as needed.
  • Computer skills- Microsoft Office; GCCS/GPCS.
  • Successful completion of Microsoft Assessment Test will be required.
  • Must be a full-time associate with a minimum of 3 months of service (Associate cannot be in their New Hire Probationary Period).
  • Must not have received any formal written occurrences other than attendance during the past 6 months.
  • Must not have less than 3.5 points during the time of posting.
  • Cannot have received a transfer from an internal posting from Division to Division within the past 12 months.
