About The Position

This position is for a Section Leader on the 1st Shift, responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity. The role requires the ability to anticipate problems, apply solutions, and ensure excellent attendance. The Section Leader must be able to operate a forklift, be flexible to support extraordinary production requirements, and possess excellent communication skills to present information to large groups and enforce policies. This role supports and directs daily company production and projects, and requires understanding and performing any associate's job as directed by management. The Section Leader will investigate abnormal situations, document findings using Microsoft Office, monitor aging trailer reports, confirm order and yard maintenance, and manage the error management screen. They will also respond to AAP Requests, identify needed repacks, complete carryover requests, and provide daily activity results to the Supervisor. Safety, environmental awareness, quality control, cost management, delivery support (including overtime), and positive team morale are also key aspects of this role. The Section Leader will train on SOPs and may participate in skill advancement courses.

Requirements

  • Post-high school education (2 - 4-year degree in Operations Management, Business or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Able to interact professionally within the company with our customer and associates.
  • Able to lead project teams and present information to management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift, hours, holidays, weekends, or overtime as needed.
  • Computer skills- Microsoft Office; GCCS/GPCS.
  • Successful completion of Microsoft Assessment Test will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity.

  • Support and direct daily company production and projects.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of each associate and be able to perform any associate’s job if necessary and as directed by management.
  • Investigate abnormal situations, document and share findings utilizing Microsoft Office.
  • Monitor aging trailer report.
  • Confirm order and yard maintenance is completed in GCCS/GPCS.
  • Ensure error management screen is maintained and report any unresolved issues.
  • Respond to AAP Requests (Cycle Count/JSP).
  • Identify needed repacks and timings.
  • Complete all carryover requests from AAP.
  • Provide results of daily activity to Supervisor.
  • Support Physical Inventory requirements.
  • Follow safety rules and requirements.
  • Ensure work area is clean (5s at end of shift).
  • Support Incident Reports as necessary.
  • Maintain Inventory Accuracy daily.
  • Report any inventory irregularities to SV immediately.
  • Ensure correct receipt of all parts in both GCCS and GPCS.
  • Support overtime (scheduled or unscheduled).
  • Monitor receiving areas to ensure correct receipt.
  • Interact with team members and customer daily in a positive way.
  • Treat all associates consistently and respectfully.
  • Raise concerns/issues immediately to management.
  • Train on SOPs as presented by management.
