About The Position

Composes and types a variety of correspondence, forms, logs, and reports; takes and transcribes minutes of official meetings, and provides related clerical support for assigned department/program.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or one and one-half years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of related experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Database software and Word Processing software.
  • Must be able to type at least 35 w.p.m.
  • Must be able to operate a variety of office machines including a computer, photocopier, fax machine, Dictaphone, transcribing machine, and 10 key calculator.
  • Must possess knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent speaker of the Cherokee language as demonstrated through the proficiency tests administered by the Cultural Resource Center (Only for Cultural Resource Center position).
