About The Position

Kelloggsville Middle School is seeking a 1.0 FTE Secondary Social Studies/Math/Science Teacher for the 2026-27 School Year. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with RX, DI, and EX Endorsements. Bilingual skills are preferred. This role involves teaching students the required knowledge and skills using the district's curriculum and other appropriate learning activities. The teacher will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing lessons aligned with various standards, employing modern teaching methods and strategies, and maintaining effective classroom management to foster a positive and safe learning environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community, particularly in a multicultural setting. The position also emphasizes cultural competence and equitable treatment for all.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with RX, DI and EX Endorsement
  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods that includes multiple teaching strategies
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others
