Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching Certification
DI or DX Endorsement
Knowledge of current teaching methods that includes multiple teaching strategies
High level of organizational skills
Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others

Responsibilities

Teach students the knowledge and skills utilizing the district's designated curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
Design, plan and implement lessons based on school, district, state, and/or national standards.
Establish and maintain effective classroom management for learning.
Create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment for all students.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with students.
Communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community.
Establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District.
Recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
