About The Position

The Seat Production Technician is responsible for designing seat cushion patterns from various sources, fabricating cushions according to ergonomic principles, and ensuring quality through inspection and adherence to the Quality Management System. This role involves disassembling and re-assembling seat assemblies, maintaining a clean work area, and fostering positive professional relationships. The technician must understand and comply with specific Quality Management System Procedures and Work Instructions.

Requirements

• Ability to read a ruler
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Able to operate band saw, electric knife and other hand tools
• Ability to interpret patterns and read drawings
• Ability to apply adhesives
• Ability to work with changing priorities or deadlines
• Ability to speak and read English.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine correspondence and reports.
• Ability to speak effectively to customers and other employees
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Design seat cushions patterns from photos, written or oral instructions, drawings and dimensions.
• Fabricate cushions according to basic ergonomic principles and patterns.
• Take field notes and dimensions.
• Disassemble and re-assemble seat assemblies as required.
• Inspect materials and finished work to ensure quality.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Maintain positive and professional working relationships with employees.
• Responsible for understanding and complying to our Quality Management System Procedures, Work Instructions, etc.: QOP-QA-02 Records Control, QOP-LG-01 Preservation of Articles, Parts, and Materials, QOP-LG-02 Customer Owned Parts Control.
