Seat & Restraints Innovation Engineer

This newly created role will help drive more innovation into new Ford seat and restraints projects. The candidate will act as an engineering project manager assisting core/research teams bring high want projects from key stake holders into programs.
Requirements
- Product release CAD and BOM structures management
- Assembly positioning and mass attribute analysis
- Supplier data integration facilitation
- CAD studies development for design improvements
- Feasibility analyses using CAD tools (draft angle analysis, undercut detection, minimum bend radius validation for sheet metal, clearance checks)
- Understanding and utilization of product check-in/check-out processes
- Version control
- Data release
- Change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem
Responsibilities
- Managing product release CAD and BOM structures, including assembly positioning and mass attribute analysis.
- Facilitating supplier data integration.
- Developing CAD studies to support and drive design improvements.
- Performing feasibility analyses using CAD tools, including draft angle analysis, undercut detection, minimum bend radius validation for sheet metal, and clearance checks to support manufacturing and machining requirements.
- Understanding and effectively utilizing product check-in/check-out processes, version control, data release, and change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem.
