About The Position
Hanover Township is accepting applications for a Seasonal Snow Plow Assistant. This non-exempt position involves snow and ice removal, including operating Township 3/4 ton pickups and dump trucks with attached plows and salting spreading devices. The role also includes clearing roadways and facility parking lots of snow and ice. Other duties may be assigned. The position is seasonal, typically lasting through March, and hours are as-needed based on winter conditions, potentially including evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois CDL license
- High school diploma or GED required
- Three years of related experience in roadway maintenance and snowplowing or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, with assistance
