About The Position
Hanover Township is accepting applications for a Seasonal Snow Plow Assistant. This role involves snow and ice removal in various areas of Cook County, IL, including Bartlett, Streamwood, Elgin, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, and Schaumburg. Responsibilities include operating Township 3/4 ton pickups and dump trucks equipped with plows and salting devices to clear roadways and facility parking lots. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois CDL license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three years of related experience in roadway maintenance and snowplowing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, with assistance.
Responsibilities
- Operation of Township 3/4 ton pickups and dump trucks with attached plows and salting spreading devices.
- Clearing roadways and facility parking lots of snow and ice.
- Performing manual labor for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Following oral and written instructions.
