About The Position

This is a Fall/Winter Seasonal position, running from October through March with variable hours, approximately 10-20 hours per week. The role involves managing and supervising staff in the overall maintenance of Edwards Ice Arena, ensuring security, cleanliness, and safety. The supervisor will also provide direct supervision of facility patrons, offer a high level of leadership, and oversee staff, including in-service training. Responsibilities include coordinating and planning facility maintenance procedures, completing necessary paperwork, communicating safety concerns to management, encouraging children's participation in skating activities, supervising special events, and serving as a positive role model.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age upon employment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to supervise staff.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and direct the overall operation, including maintenance of the ice arena during work hours.
  • Ability to enforce City of Beloit policies and procedures.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Effective decision making skills.
  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Current First Aid and AED certifications preferred.
  • Ability to ice skate is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise staff in the overall maintenance of Edwards Ice Arena during work hours (including but not limited to security, cleanliness and safety)
  • Safety and direct supervision of facility patrons
  • Provide a high level of leadership
  • Provide supervision of staff including in-service training
  • Coordination and planning of facility maintenance procedures
  • Complete necessary paperwork specific to job responsibilities (state mandated forms, attendance forms, accident/incident report forms, facility checklists, etc.)
  • Initiate communication regarding safety concerns to management staff on a daily basis
  • Encourage children to participate in skating activities through positive reinforcement
  • Supervise special events held at assigned facility
  • Serve as a positive role model to the participants
  • Perform set-up and take-down of program related equipment
