About The Position

Looking for a winter job with the chance to be outside, get some exercise, and help provide a fun winter activity? Then our outdoor rinks and warming houses may be perfect for you! This is a short season that is weather dependent and we are looking for staff who can help make our rinks a great place to hang out and skate this winter. The position involves maintaining safe and clean ice surfaces by scraping and removing snow, maintaining clean warming houses, and assisting skaters. The timeframe for this seasonal role is typically from late December through February, depending on weather conditions.

Requirements

• At least 16 years old
• Able to do light to medium snow shoveling
• Effective communication skills
• Responsible and reliable
• Ability to work flexible work hours (evenings & weekends)
• Enjoy working outdoors and interacting with people
• Ability to have fun and work well with the general public to ensure a good experience for all users
• Ensure a fun & safe skating environment
• Ability to work responsibly and with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• The ability to skate is not necessary
• Basic first aid and CPR certificates desirable

Responsibilities

• Help all users understand warming house and rink rules and regulations to ensure a good experience for all users
• Prepare attendance reports
• Maintain safe and clean ice surfaces by scraping and removing snow from rinks.
• Maintain clean warming house (i.e. sweep, empty trash).
• Promptly open, close, and secure the warming house according to schedule.
• Effective and respectful communication and interaction with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and the general public.
• Assist skaters as needed.
