About The Position

As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s Somerset Collection, you combine results-driven selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, offer personalized recommendations, and connect them with appropriate products and services on the sales floor and in fitting rooms. You work toward sales goals through customer engagement and effective selling behaviors, helping build trust and customer loyalty. You also help keep the shopping space clean, organized, and inviting. Colleagues prepare for the day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals, top-selling items, trends, and promotions, and making sure the sales floor is ready for customers. Throughout the day, they welcome customers and build friendly, personal relationships; merchandise new receipts; process damages, testers, and selected merchandise for return to vendors; update signs and pricing; and support merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. Colleagues support one another, collaborate, strive to improve, and take pride in achieving individual and store results. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled to work 10–20 hours per week. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
