About The Position

As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-focused selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, make personalized recommendations, connect them with appropriate products and services, and work toward sales goals through customer engagement and effective selling behaviors. You help customers on the sales floor and in fitting rooms, build trust and loyalty, and contribute to a welcoming shopping experience. You also help keep the sales floor clean, organized, and inviting. At the start of the day, colleagues prepare the sales floor, review goals, learn about new arrivals, popular products, trends, and promotions, and get ready to assist customers. During the day, they welcome customers and build friendly relationships; maintain a shoppable space by merchandising merchandise, processing damages, testers, and vendor returns, updating signs and prices, and supporting merchandise moves; and share loyalty-program benefits and provide a thoughtful close to each interaction. Colleagues collaborate with one another, take pride in their work, and strive to achieve individual and store results. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled for 10–20 hours per week. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The position requires flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as dependable attendance and punctuality.
