About The Position

As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-focused selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, offer personalized recommendations, connect them with appropriate products and services, and work toward sales goals through customer engagement and effective selling behaviors. The role emphasizes building trust, meeting sales targets, and inspiring customer loyalty; it involves more than cashiering. You also help keep the shopping environment clean, organized, and inviting. Colleagues prepare for the day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals and top-selling items, and staying informed about trends and promotions. They welcome customers and build friendly, personal relationships on the sales floor. They maintain a shoppable space by merchandising new receipts, processing damages, testers, and selected merchandise returns to vendors, updating signs and pricing, and supporting merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled to work 10–20 hours per week. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Flexible availability is required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
