DHQ Seasonal Musician
About The Position
Assist The Salvation Army’s 2025 Christmas Kettle Campaign by providing seasonal music accompaniment and entertainment at Golden State Division Corps and other Army fundraising events and programs. The role requires proficiency in reading music, singing, and playing a brass instrument, including performing in a quartet or quintet and as a soloist at kettles. Travel to events throughout the Golden State Division is required. The employee must be a uniformed Salvationist who currently attends a Salvation Army Corps. The position includes physical activity such as lifting instruments or equipment and walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting. Musical instruments and AV equipment may be used as required. The employee acknowledges The Salvation Army’s religious purpose and agrees that work-related conduct must not conflict with or undermine its religious programs or purposes. Employment is at will, subject to applicable law.
Requirements
- Proficiency playing a brass instrument.
- Proficiency singing a part.
- Be a uniformed Salvationist currently attending a Salvation Army Corps.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., typically musical instruments or equipment.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
Responsibilities
- Read music proficiently, sing, and play a brass instrument in a quartet or quintet.
- Play as a soloist at kettles.
- Travel to events throughout the Golden State Division.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Divisional Music and Worship Arts Director or Divisional Secretary for Program.
