The Prince George's County Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T) is currently seeking a highly qualified applicant to fill a Seasonal Laborer position (Laborer 1G) grade G6 in the Office of Storm Drain Maintenance. This is a temporary position that is limited to a maximum of 1000 working hours. This position does not offer benefits. These are additional staff support positions and will be filled temporarily for the Spring Storm Season. There are no county benefits to this position. This is routine unskilled manual labor work of a physically demanding nature. Employees assigned to this class are responsible for a wide variety of manual labor tasks. Work normally is performed under close supervision although direct supervision is not always available. Work is related to asphalt, masonry, concrete, mowing, flood, litter control, tree, turf and grounds maintenance on County rights-of-way and at County facilities. Hours will vary depending on the needs of the department and weather conditions. Employees will be expected to work over-time, if needed. Duties require initiative and independent judgment in the care and operation of equipment, as well as mechanical aptitude and skillful coordination of eye, hand, and foot movements.
